Human Rights Activist
Ms. Misun Woo is a South Korean human rights advocate currently residing in Thailand, with over two decades of experience advancing women’s rights and social justice across the Asia-Pacific region. She served more than seventeen years with the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD), including seven years as Regional Coordinator, where she played a central role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction and program development. Through her work at APWLD, she contributed significantly to building transnational solidarity by connecting diverse communities and human rights organizations throughout the region. She has also led advocacy efforts and policy engagement aimed at addressing structural inequality and social exclusion in various contexts. Recently she joined ESCR-Net, a global membership and movement-led network committed to making a world where care for people and the planet, solidarity and equality inform decisions and shape structures to guarantee human rights and dignity for all.
