Director, Hethne Initiative

Ashok Kumar was born and raised in India, where he lived as a practicing Hindu for the first twenty years of his life. In the early 1980s, he had a personal encounter with Christ that transformed his life. Since then, he has been actively involved in missionary work for over forty years. Most of this time, he served with OM India, OM East Asia & Pacific, and on the OM ship M.V. Doulos. Currently, he is part of the Lausanne Movement, where he works as a Catalyst for Hinduism. Additionally, Ashok is the national director of the Perspectives Course in Singapore. He founded the Hethne Initiative, a global movement aimed at reaching the Hethne people. He earned his Master of Theology from Trinity Theological College in Singapore and pursued his doctoral studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, USA. Ashok is passionate about mobilizing people to share the gospel with Hindus in every nation. He has mentored many individuals in leadership roles, including several first-generation Hindus who have become followers of Christ. In his spare time, he is a long-distance cyclist and has traversed approximately 30,000 kilometres across various parts of the world.
