International Trainer and Mobilizer – Buddhist World Focus, OMF

Dr. Alexander Garnett Smith is an international trainer and mobilizer with a lifelong commitment to mission among Buddhist peoples, serving with OMF. From 1964 to 1984, he pioneered evangelism and church-planting in Central Thailand, helped develop a lay pastor training school for rural Thai leaders, and initiated the Thailand Church Growth Committee, which continues to this day. He later served as the Northwest Director for OMF (USA), taught extensively at Multnomah University, and facilitated numerous Mission Perspectives courses through the U.S. Center for World Mission. Since 1999, he has co-founded and led SEANET, a global network for engaging the Buddhist world, while also serving as an adjunct visiting professor at multiple Asian seminaries. He is the author of several influential books and many articles on mission to Buddhists, contributing significantly to global missiological conversations.
